Ebates is great. I just earned over $140 back with my purchase at Sears. A lot of us shop online during the holidays and it is a great way to beat the crowds. Now you can get rewarded for shopping online.

My advice is to install Ebates on your browser so it will show you what stores have what percentage of cashback when you search for things in Google and it will ask you to activate the cash back when you go to a website. This way you will not forget to use it and get money back!

A few of my Black Friday tips: 

  • Don't wait in line anymore - only wait in line if it is a local store that does not have a major online presence. Most of the deals can be found online.
  • Don't pay full price - a lot of stores get you to come in for sales and when you are caught up in the hype you may pick up things that are not on sale yet. 
  • Shop the deals before you go. If you can get something online with free shipping why not shop in your pajamas while still in bed? 
  • Have fun - I have gone black Friday shopping the last few years because it is fun to get out there with a friend and be in that atmosphere. We do not go super early which makes it much more enjoyable. 

We have a meeting with our electrician on Friday morning to do an initial walk through of the house so I will probably not be going out shopping.

What are your plans for Black Friday? Do you start shopping on Thanksgiving? I miss when Black Friday started around 3-4 am on Friday.

Like Father, Like Son

How is it Monday already? This weekend went by way too fast. I have today off, but I have a few things on my to do list, thankfully all of it can be done from home. A workout is definitely on the list. I am really enjoying my workouts and getting back into that routine.

Saturday I managed to get a few workouts in. I changed into my workout clothes and went to it. I started with the Pilates Fix. When I was done Mason was playing nicely and Owen was fast asleep so I decided to do 10 minute abs. After that was done the boys were still good so I decided to do one more workout - the Yoga Fix. That felt soo good to get that stretch in. My core was feeling it yesterday, but it was worth it.

I finished just in time because Tim and his brother came in from hunting for a snack after I got done with my shower. I looked in the kitchen at one point and saw this...
Like father, like son! Mason even has his leg crossed like daddy. He is always copying him and I find it adorable.

After this snack I took Mason to my mom's for a sleepover. I forgot his blankie - eek. He did fine without it, but my mom was nervous.

Owen, Tim, and I went looking for a bed for our room Saturday night. Owen was dressed nice and cozy in a fleece outfit with little ears on the hood :)
I really want a storage bed, but the nice ones are so expensive. I found a few I like, but I also found a few sleigh beds that I love! We decided that if we can find a sleigh bed that we like and the matching bedroom set is not at a crazy price we could get a whole set instead of just the bed. When we moved out of our house we got rid of our old full bed so we really need something before we move into our house.


I am currently taking a Sports & Exercise Nutition class for certification. Living Social had a deal on it so a few of us beach body coaches decided to take it. I am finding it very informational and helpful with understanding how the body works and how food fuels it. I have been out of college for six years (say what?!?!) and I am surprised at how much I like taking a class again. I have seven more classes to go...  wish me luck.

Ozzie - 2 Months & a Challenge

I am a few days late with this, but life seems to have become hectic.

Owen is not over 2 months old. He is growing like a weed and I think he is growing faster than Mason did at this age. He is already in 3 month clothing and it fits well. This outfit was Mason's and Mason was four months old when he wore it.

Mason is still such a great big brother. He tries to help every chance he gets. He does get jealous at times which is understandable. He gets in his three year old moods as well that are not fun, but we work through them. 

Owen started smiling a week or so ago. We have noticed a lot more facial expressions, some are quite comical. He has also started grabbing toys more and following them when we move them in front of him.

This is a normal sight in our house. It doesn't matter who is holding him he wants to nuzzle into your armpit. The other day he kind of blew his nose all over Tim's shirt. Laying him flat on his back also seems to calm him.

I had to compare these two with the same hat on. I did not realize when I posted this on my Facebook that they are the same ages in the photos. I had people guess who was who and both grandmothers got it wrong.

How am I doing?

I have weened off pumping. It was getting to be too much. I am working on a post on how I did it and what worked for me. I feel good not doing dishes constantly and not finding a spot to pump every few hours. This is personal preference and I feel every woman needs to do what feels best for her.

I feel great. I am happy to be working out again. I cannot wait to get back into shape. I like having a little workout buddy this time around.

Mr July...

I walked out to my car this morning at 5 and was shocked. It was warm out, my car read 52 degrees! Weird weather we are having here for mid-November. 

Yesterday was a little chilly, but that did not stop us from getting out and about. I could not get up with the alarm to work out yesterday morning. My body just wanted to sleep so I let it. I made myself a Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Banana shake for my breakfast on the go. Owen had his 2 month check up yesterday and Mason had his flu shot. 
I picked Tim up from work on the way to the doctor's office - no way was I doing all those shots alone. Owen and I went in to the room for his appointment and Tim took Mason for his shot. I teared up when Owen started crying with his shots, but he was better after I held him and fed him in the room.

I came out to find Tim and Mason walking around outside. I asked Tim how it went, fearful that there was a meltdown and he said it went fine. It was worse on the nurse that does not like doing pediatrics than it was on Mason. Apparently he did not even flinch or cry when she gave him the shot. He had to show Nain and Pops when they got home from work what a brave boy he was.
Owen was a little fussy last night, but after some Tylenol he slept through the night like he has been doing for the past week.

I got my workout in yesterday when we got home from running around. It was the Lower Fix and my legs were burning during it! What a work out, Phew. I did not get up this morning to work out because I went to bed late. I have to work until 6 pm then I have an EMS training to go to at 6:30 so a workout might not be in the mix for today. I am feeling good about working out. I cannot wait to be back where I was over a year ago - hooked on working out daily.

I was taking my dreaded "before" pictures last night. While I was trying to set up my phone to take the photos Mason stood where he saw me standing and wanted me to set the timer.
Then while I was taking my photos he ran upstairs and came back down in shorts "like mommy." He came down and started posing all over the living room. Meet Mr July...


Have you seen this video? Alanis Morissette remade her "Ironic" lyrics to fit in today's world. I found it funny and so true. I loved and still love her songs. James Corden is also pretty funny.

I watched this next video this morning and could not stop smiling. What a great reaction and a great way to announce the pregnancy.

Puzzles, Puzzles, Puzzles

Owen slept until 9 this morning, but I was up at 7 with Mason. This time change has really ruined my oldest baby's sleeping in --- wahhhh! Getting up that early did help me get a lot done. I have been accomplishing things left and right today.

Getting downstairs today was a chore. My legs are crazy sore and it feels sooooo good! I love being sore from a workout.

I got another workout in today. I was glad to see it was Upper Fix today from the 21 Day Fix. I am sore from yesterday and did not want to be thrown into a lower body workout.
Mason joined me. He worked out for a bit then he was my picture taker. H is getting pretty good at both taking pictures and working out. He likes yoga and has since he could walk and mimic me. I have to tell my brother that Mason needs some 1 pound and 3 pound weights to use. That would be a good Christmas present for Mason. I have looked for them for him and I am not happy that the 1 pound weights are always pink. Only girls use the 1 pounders?

After my workout I had a delicious Eggnog Shakeology Shake. I am loving these shakes and the different flavor possibilities :) While drinking we had to do a couple puzzles.

Mason has been really into puzzles lately. He has a big pile of them and we have to do them multiple times per day. He is actually getting really good at them with practice. He knows to match colors and shapes. He also does puzzles on the iPad with Tim's mom.
I love watching his mind grow. He comes home every week singing a new song he has learned in school and it takes us forever to figure out what song it is if it is not one like Humpty Dumpty. I send lots of messages to his preschool teacher for words to the songs.

Now if he would just listen to us when we say things he would be great :)

Getting there...

Notice anything different? I love a good blog re-design. Thanks to Erin for finding something that fits me and that I really like. If you ever need a new blog design check Erin out - she is quick and does a great job!

Hard to believe that Wednesday is Owen's 2 month check up. He is smiling now and making coo'ing noises. I forgot how fun it is to watch them develop and grow.

We went up to our property on Friday to talk with our builder and see what progress had been made. Tim goes up to the property almost daily on his way home from work. Things seem to be moving quickly now that the foundation is in. {WAHOO!}
We chose a nice knoll on the property to put our house. We decided to go with a walk out basement in the back because we would be on a slight hill anyway. 
I am very anxious to make a workout space in the basement. I am also very anxious to decorate my new house and have my own space again. It is hard to live out of boxes and with only a quarter of your possessions. Our builder told us the walls should be going up this week and the roof next week. Fingers crossed the weather continues to be nice, we have been lucky so far with the sun and temperatures.


Today is the day. I am ready for a change and to get back into my good habits. I have had a tough time with food - during pregnancy and in the weeks since having Owen. I crave sweets lately. I have fallen in love with Shakeology. I cannot believe I did not try it sooner.

I rolled my butt out of bed this morning at 3:40 - wow that is early. Owen was great and did not wake up at all during the night so I was able to get some sleep.
When my body figures out what I did this morning I am sure walking will be difficult. Autumn is definitely a good trainer - can't wait to do more. I started the 21 Day Fix workouts this morning and tracking my food with My Fitness Pal. I am putting it out there to keep myself accountable. Life is busy right now and hectic, but I have to make time for myself. I need to start working out again, I always feel so much better about myself when I am working out regularly.
