Last night was a rough one. I worked 4-12 and a storm rolled through which yield hundreds of phone calls and multiple Fire/EMS calls. We had flashbacks of Tropical Storm Irene. I was mentally exhausted when I got home at midnight, but I could not go right to bed. Mason & Tim were awake when I got home.
|Yesterday when he was feeling a little better|
I took Mason from Tim and he felt like he was on fire. We took his temperature and it was 101.8, Tim had just given him Tylenol to try to bring it down. We decided to also give him a luke warm bath to try to cool him down. It did work, thankfully, we got his temp down to 100.6. We let him play for a while because he was awake at that point. Tim told me to go to bed.
I was up a few times with Mason throughout the night. Mason woke up this morning just crying softly and coughing. It was the saddest thing. I checked his temperature which was normal. I got him dressed and he was just ready to cuddle. I called daycare last night to let them know he would not be there today, I did not think he should be around kids to spread to germs. My mom said she would take him for the day so I did not have to take a day off.
He did look pretty cute today with his crab outfit on.
Having a sick baby is the worst. He cannot tell us what is wrong or how he is feeling. I do get optimistic when he is playing with his toys like he normally does, that means he must be feeling a little better. I am hoping this cold passes soon - fingers crossed
In other news I got a good walk in yesterday. Mason was in baby jail for almost an hour and he was fine. He was playing with toys he does not see that often so he was intrigued.
I am going to walk tonight before going to pick up Mason from my mom. Tim & I have class tonight so my mom will have Mason until almost bedtime. I am almost halfway through these DietBets and I am doing pretty well, I just need to keep up the momentum.
My eating needs a little more work, but I am trying.
Any advice for treating a sick baby? We are giving him vapor baths and I heard Vicks makes a plug in now, but they are expensive.
