Weekly Weigh In

Wow, I cannot believe it is the last day of 2012. I remember in high school when we went back in January it was so hard to remember to put the right year on your papers. I still have to worry about it at work, we use the year for certain things and it takes a little while to get used to writing a new number.

I stepped on the scale this morning and was happy with what I saw
I expected it to be higher. That is a loss from last week, small one, but still a loss. I figured that the weight last week was because of the water weight lost when I was sick. I am glad to be starting the new year in "one"derland. I need to get my but back in gear and start focusing again.
As I mentioned before we are going on a budget to make ourselves accountable for our purchases, so I need to use the Weight Watchers membership if it is going to take a chunk of my cash for the month.

Here are some photos from yesterday
He looked so cute in this outfit! Then he puked on it so we had to change the fleece.
So we started green beans on Friday. He likes them, but I am thinking he might like anything. So far he likes bananas and green beans. Last night Tim & I found out we were introducing food wrong, oh well. Apparently you are only supposed to give a few teaspoons a day for the first week or so to get him used to it. We have been giving an ounce a day. He likes it so I guess we are doing something right.
Nutmeg was keeping a close eye on things, just in case a little food went where it was not supposed to.

Any exciting plans tonight?
We are going to Tim's Aunt's house for a little get together with family & friends. I have to work in the morning so I will not be staying until midnight.
Have a safe & happy New Year's!

Sunday Social

Source
1. Favorite New Years Eve you've had before?
I am not a big party person. Tim and I have been going to his Aunt's house for years. She has a little gathering with some delicious food. We usually sit around with family and friends playing board games and waiting for the ball to drop.
Here is a photo from last year -

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?
See previous question. We will be there for the night.

3. Name a book we should all read come January.
Oh boy this is tough. There are so many books I like.
- Roses - Leila Meacham -> I read this book a year or so ago, but I liked it. I like how it covers the life of two people and their families. I like books that are set in the early 1900s and this covered some of that.
- Killing Lincoln - Bill O'Reilly -> I have not actually read this book yet, it is on my list to read in January. Tim read it and really liked it. He had the book done in a train ride to D.C.
- The Choice - Nicholas Sparks -> This is an old one, but it really makes you think. I finished that book just thinking what I would have done in the situation.

4. What are your New Year's Resolutions?
- Stick to a strict budget - we need to start saving and watching the money that is going out. I have a big problem with just buying things, so I will have work to do.
- Now that $18.95 of my monthly cash budget is going toward a Weight Watcher's membership I need to follow it!
- Exercise more!
- Use the food in the pantry - there is so much that we need to use it before it goes bad.
- Start losing weight again!

5 Months

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday. It is snowing here in Upstate NY
Just a little dusting, nothing compared to the 7-10 inches we got the other night.

I am a little late with this post, but with Tim off for the week we have been busy. It is nice to have time off together. Mason turned 5 months old on Thursday. I cannot believe it has been 5 months already.

Mason Stats:
He is rolling all the time. He rolls at night when he is sleeping and wakes himself up. He does not like being on his tummy when sleeping apparently because he wakes right up and wants to be corrected.
First time I saw him roll!
He holds his own bottle for some feedings.
I am in awe at his development. It is amazing to watch him grow mentally and physically.
He loves to talk and laughs when he talks to Uncle Michael.

Here is an extra picture from the 5 month photo shoot... Scribbles jumped up on the chair with Mason and wanted to be pet...
The cat is great, she could care less what Mason does to her as long as he is touching her.
*************
I have been slacking a little in the exercise and healthy eating department. I am conscious of what I am eating, but I am not being as strict as I should be. I have not been for a walk since... I cannot even remember when.
I will be making an effort this week!

Christmas

I cannot believe it is Saturday! This is week is flying. Here is a little recap on our Christmas Day.

I had to work until 6 in the morning, so I slept until 10. My husband is the best though - I came home from work to this:
It tells me to go to bed, but at the end it says to feed the dog (signed by the dog). Funny guy.
After opening some presents here at home we headed over to Tim's parents for some presents.

A sun monkey from Maine.
I like this picture, not sure why because I am cut off and he is blocked.
Hilarious! Tim said one day to Mason he wished he had pajamas like him & his mother was listening.
The ELF!
What could this be wrapped in funnies?
A Hess truck like daddy! It is a tradition in Tim's family for all of the boys to get a Hess truck for Christmas.
Look what else he got! A sled just for him!

After presents and getting ready, we went to Tim's Aunt's house. We do holiday dinners there. We had some presents to open there too.
Look what Uncle Michael got him! It makes noise! It says age 1 and older, so it will be put away for a little while.
Uncle Paul got him a noisy ball.
It was a wonderful first Christmas. Mason helped open his gifts and he is actually playing with toys from Christmas.
